Know the Facts

Asthma is a disease that affects your lungs. Sometimes chronic, it is characterized by the inflammation of the passageways of the lungs that makes breathing difficult. Signs and symptoms of Asthma include: repeated episodes of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing.  It is important to identify elements that may trigger or worsen your asthma symptoms.  Some common Asthma triggers include: tobacco smoke, outdoor air pollution, dust mites, pets, mold, and smoke from burning wood or grass.  Medication can be taken to help control asthma.
